Apple has announced the highly anticipated next-generation M3 MacBook Air, available in 13-inch and 15-inch variants. The M3 processor promises improved CPU and GPU performance, an updated Neural Engine, faster Wi-Fi connectivity, and the ability to connect to two external monitors simultaneously.
The new MacBook Air lineup is now available for purchase, with shipping set to commence from March 8. The introduction of the ability to link to two external displays marks a significant advancement in laptop technology, meeting the expectations of many users.
However, there is a slight limitation to this feature: the MacBook Air desktop can only be connected to external screens when the laptop lid is closed. If the lid remains open, only one external display will function, mirroring the setup of previous M1 and M2 versions.
Dubbed as the “world’s best consumer laptop for AI,” the M3 MacBook Air boasts an even faster 8-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU, promising enhanced performance across various tasks.
The device also features a quicker 16-core Neural Engine and improved Wi-Fi 6E, delivering theoretical download speeds twice as fast as its predecessor.
In terms of design, the laptop retains the narrow bezel screen with a camera notch cutout and a flat-edged chassis reminiscent of the M2 model. It comes in midnight, starlight, space gray, and silver color options, with an anodized seal specifically designed to minimize visible fingerprints, particularly on the midnight variant.
