Sri Lanka’s T20 International captain, Wanindu Hasaranga, faces a two-match suspension after accumulating five demerit points within 24 months, resulting from his latest breach of the ICC Code of Conduct. Hasaranga was fined 50% of his match fee and received three demerit points for personal abuse during the third T20I against Afghanistan. This suspension means he will miss the first two T20Is against Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been fined 15% of his match fee and received one demerit point for disobeying an umpire’s instruction during the same match, bringing his total demerit points to two.
