Allegations and Counter-Claims Surrounding the Election Process in Pakistan

According to Maryam Aurangzeb, the spokesperson for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), there has been a misperception created in the media regarding the election results, particularly related to Form-45. Speaking to the media in Lahore alongside Ata Tarar, Aurangzeb stated that decisions regarding a two percent margin were made, and the media was informed multiple times that Form-45 were incorrect and later changed.

The PML-N spokesperson accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of fabricating false statements, asserting that all verified information has been submitted to the Election Commission. She expressed her lack of visibility regarding an alliance with Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s party, stating that the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) is lodging its complaints with the Election Commission, akin to other political parties.

During the media interaction, league leader Ata Tarar criticized the PTI, claiming that hundreds of fake Form-45 were uploaded on social media platforms. He accused the PTI of hastily preparing Form-45, alleging digital terrorism and seeking help from external powers, including the United States.

League leaders further argued that the PTI prematurely announces victories and defeats, with the PTI’s leaders being the “founders” of foreign agents. They emphasized that any grievances should be addressed through the appropriate channels such as the Election Commission and the courts, rather than international media or the United States.

These statements reflect the ongoing tensions and controversies surrounding the recent elections in Pakistan, with accusations and rebuttals being exchanged between political parties. The issue of transparency and credibility in the electoral process remains a subject of concern, with allegations of electoral fraud and irregularities being vigorously debated.
